Camp is brought to life by a summer staff made up of young Jewish men and women from the US and other parts of the world (Israel, Britain, Australia, etc.). These individuals must meet our strict criteria and pass a rigorous interview process. In addition they must participate and pass a pre-camp training module and then join us at camp for a week long orientation program. While all of these ‘things’ are important, what truly matters is that our staff has a genuine love of children and of the camp environment.
Our staff is different from many camps in that they must be minimally high school graduates before they can begin employment. We have found that younger staffs simply do not have the necessary emotional or physical stamina to provide a group of children a great experience over a period of multiple weeks. In order to ensure their success over the summer we provide ongoing feedback, formal and informal supervision, mid-season evaluations and staff forums. Many staff were campers who have grown up with us and ensure that our values and traditions permeate the current season.
Working alongside our counselors and specialists are a team of senior staff, typically older and with prior years of camp experience, who supervise and support the front line individuals. Quality supervision is essential, as in the end the happier the staff team is, the happier the campers will be! We believe our staff is the best there is, and based on parent/child testimony and our camper retention rates we know this has to be true.

Supervisors (senior specialists, village leaders, etc.) must have significant experience in their particular area of expertise and must have experience working with children in that field.
